Regional Director of Operations
Beneva Group has recently partnered with a leading Automotive company to find their next Regional Director of Operations. This individual will oversee management of all areas of Manufacturing for a region of facilities. The Regional Director of Operations will partner with company officers and senior staff members to develop and formulate long and short-range planning, policies, programs, and objectives including the manufacturing plan and procedures for maintaining high standards. In addition, this individual will identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data as well as direct the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standards through solid lean manufacturing principles.-
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee a region of manufacturing facilities including Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, and Ontario, Canada.
2. Assist company officers and senior staff members in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives.
3. Develop and manage the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure facility objects are met including Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
4. Achieve optimum team member levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan.
5. Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.
6. Direct and monitor department managers to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures. Act as liaison between department management/subordinate levels, as well as, executive/department manager levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results.
7. Hire, train, develop and evaluate staff. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Ensure compliance with current federal, state and local regulations. Consult with Human Resources Department as appropriate.
8. Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data. Direct the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standards through solid lean manufacturing principles.
9. Direct and coordinate various programs essential to manufacturing procedures (e.g., training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, security, etc.).
10. Work effectively and relate well with others. Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others, working to maintain constructive working relationships.
11. Keep current on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation and ensure compliance.
12. Provide customer support though on-site visits and customer visits. -
Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in industrial/mechanical engineering or business administration
– 10+ years of experience in manufacturing management preferably in process-oriented operations with 3+ years of experience managing multiple plants
– Experience managing a minimum of 4 manufacturing sites simultaneously
– Strong background/experience in materials and production
– Proven leadership skills with supervising complex tasks
– Problem solving skillset with ability to create effective action plans to drive improvement and results
– Certified Lean Manufacturing Practitioner with Lean manufacturing experience strongly preferred
– Proficiency in finance (business P&L, budgeting) with analytical skillset -
Location
Preferably based in Pennsylvania.
This position can be based out of any of the company’s locations in northeastern US, southeastern US, or Toronto.
