Engineering Project Manager

The Company

Our client is an established manufacturer of paper and plastic products sold to a large variety of industries.  This 60+ year old company is well established in its markets with a broad product line and solid reputation.  This manufacturing company offers a fast-paced stimulating environment with excellent growth potential.

The Position

The Project Manager will have responsibility for project governance including tracking projects and budgets, risk management and managing the capital project process.  The Manager will lead the approved stage gate capital process.  In addition to governance and management reporting, He/She will lead assigned projects, assistance with organizing and selecting project teams, developing project plans and budgets to achieve objectives on plan and budget. The Manager will also help manage the relationships with outside vendors and contractors.

Candidate Qualifications

The qualified candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Plastics, or Electrical Engineering (advanced engineering and/or business degree preferred) and a minimum of 8+ year’s hands-on project engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.  Additional qualifications include:

  • Coating/Converting experience
  • Proven project management success with large capital projects (PMP desired)
  • Experience with project governance, budget monitoring, risk management and reporting
  • Experience in a multi-plant manufacturing environment
  • Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in managing vendors and contractors
  • Ability to travel 50%
